Privacy Policy

GladIWent ("we", "us") helps you map and share your travels. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. By using the GladIWent app or website you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account data — name, username, email and password (stored hashed).
• Profile data — optional bio, website, avatar and home city/country you add.
• Content you create — visits, posts, photos/videos, comments, likes, saves, wishlist and the places/cities you mark.
• Usage data — basic device and log information needed to operate and secure the service.

We do not track your precise device location in the background. Locations on your map are the places you choose to add. If you start the photo import yourself, the app reads the coordinates your camera saved on photos already in your library, on your device. Your photos are never uploaded and are not read as images — only the coordinates found are sent to us, and only to turn them into city names, which you then choose whether to add.

How we use it

To provide your travel map and feed, show your public profile at gladiwent.com/your‑username, deliver notifications, keep the service secure, and improve the product. Content you mark as public or unlisted may be visible to others; private and followers‑only content is restricted accordingly.

Service providers

• RevenueCat — processes in‑app subscription status (for the ad‑free Pro tier).
• Place search — when you search for a place, the query may be sent to a search provider to return results.
• Advertising — free accounts may see ads through Google AdMob; Pro removes them. AdMob reads your device’s advertising ID to limit how often an ad repeats and to prevent fraud. Ads are served as non‑personalised, and you can reset or delete the advertising ID in your device settings.
• Crash reporting — when the app or the site hits an error, Sentry receives the technical details of that failure: device model, operating system, app version and the code path involved. Your name, email and the content you post are not attached to it.
• Hosting & email — infrastructure to run the service and send transactional emails (e.g. password resets).

Your choices & rights

You can edit your profile and visibility, delete your content, and request account deletion at any time. To delete your account or request a copy of your data, contact us at the address below. We retain data only as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law.

Children

GladIWent is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect their data.
